Its sign is a depiction of a large bell and the pub has a wooden bell tower to the left as you look at it. The Bell Inn was originally a fourteenth century farmhouse. It has been a pub for one hundred and forty years and has only had five changes of landlords. A warm welcome awaits you from Sue, Louise and their friendly team. Tel: 858405. Email address:- Come and visit The Bell Inn website. Here is our facebook page. The Bell Inn hosts a thriving Golf Society. The Bell was many years ago known as the The Bluebell Inn. When village children had nowhere to go they were invited into a back room and given crisps and a drink of Vimto - a soft drink made from mixed berries. ![]() ![]() The first Willersey crier was John Ingles who was photographed in 1900 in pink hunting coat, yellow waistcoat and black top hat. He would cry a message round the village 13 times for a shilling. (5p in today's decimalised money.) He was succeeded by his son Walter Ingles, known as Wommy because his first venture out of Willersey was to walk to Evesham to see Wormwell's Circus, which he talked about incessantly for a month. The next crier was Frank Byrd and after him came Albert Exon, who asked the Parish Council for a rise. The fee was put up to 4/- ( 4 Shillings now 20p ) in 1960. Shortly after this the bell was used no more possibly because increasing radio and TV programs meant people did not hear the bell or because the Parish Council found the Village noticeboards more effective and cheaper. The bell is the property of the Parish Council but was put on loan to the licensee of The Bell at the time - Mr Raymond Powell.
